How to Make Salted Caramel Banana Milkshake Without A Blender

If for any reason you aren't able to use a blender, you can still enjoy this delicious banana milkshake. Instead, you can use a hand-mixer and have a perfectly whipped milkshake on hand.

To start, simply add all ingredients to a deep bowl with the milk. Let them sit for 2-3 minutes so that the ice cream softens a bit. Next, using an electric hand mixer or immersion blender, whip on low speed until everything is blended in.

Can I Use Another Milk For Salted Caramel Banana Milkshake?

Absolutely, you can use any milk you like to make this delicious banana milkshake. While almond milk is great, I know many are allergic to nuts or just not fans. Opt for your favorite store-bought or homemade vegan dairy-free milk, or regular milk if you prefer! Here are some simple recipes to make your own milk that's cheaper and super easy!

How To Make Homemade Whipped Cream

In the bowl of an electric mixer on medium-high speed, whip the COLD heavy cream (2-3 cups), using the whisk attachment for 4-5 minutes, until fluffy peaks begin to form. **NOTE: When it begins to thicken after the first 2-3 minutes, gradually add in 1 tablespoon vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt.** Once fully fluffy, remove from mixer bowl and continue recipe.

How to Ripen Bananas for This Salted Caramel Banana Milkshake Recipe?

Have you ever had bananas that weren't fully ripe, but you were dying to get baking or blending? Well, I totally understand. I've definitely been there. Luckily, I've come across a few hacks to help you ripen your bananas if you're in a pinch, and here's what you can do:

  • Keep the banana bunches together to avoid the ripening process from stalling.
  • Store your bananas in a warm place like near a heater or atop your refrigerator. This helps them to ripen faster.
  • Using a paper bag, add your bananas inside and fold it over to close it. The gases from inside the bag once shut tight will ripen the bananas within 24-36 hours.

If you're looking to ripe your bananas more quickly then you can do one of the following:

  • Oven Method --- Preheat the oven at 300 degrees Fahrenheit and place bananas (with peels on) unto a baking sheet and let them bake for 15-20 minutes or until skins are black. The bananas at this point should be soft and sweet.
  • Microwave Method ---Poke holes into the peel bananas (all around) and microwave for 30 seconds at a time until the bananas are soft enough.

Common Q + A's For This Salted Caramel Banana Milkshake

How to make dairy-free + vegan?

To make this milkshake recipe vegan or dairy-free, simply ensure that your salted caramel ice cream is dairy-free (You can also use vanilla ice cream + add ¼ cup of vegan caramel sauce as an option if needed). Also, make sure that you use plant-based milk, vegan sprinkles, and coconut whipped cream.

How to Best Store Leftovers?

Best if consumed right away. If not, ensure that milkshake is stored in an air-tight container or mason jar and kept in the freezer. To thaw out, remove milkshake from freezer and place in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes for a creamy consistency.

Can I use frozen bananas instead of fresh ones?

Yes, frozen bananas can be used to make the milkshake. They will provide a thicker texture and a colder beverage.

Can I add protein powder to this milkshake?

Absolutely! Adding protein powder is a great way to boost the nutritional content of the milkshake and make it more filling.

Can I make this milkshake thicker or thinner?

Yes, you can adjust the consistency by adding more or less milk. For a thicker milkshake, use less milk, and for a thinner consistency, add more milk.
