DIY Makeup Vanity Project.

Hi Ya’ll!

I’m Back!!

I know it’s been a while since we’ve last spoken and I most certainly have missed you All! I do hope that everyone has had a great couple of weeks. I know that I have so many blog posts to read and catch up on, over the weekend – so that I can tap into everyone’s world of fun! Haha! Anyway, my time off was pretty enlightening! I got a lot of time to think a lot of things through, explored some new territory, and deciphered through the steps that I need to take to reach my future goals (personally, spiritually, and career-wise). To be honest, I’ve learned a lot while on my  “mini hiatus” and I am much more aware of the things (AND people) that I should/shouldn’t allow to eat away at my time going forward. I definitely gained some clarity!

I’m seeing things through a Rose-Colored Glass.

All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think, we become. -Buddha

So, Don’t allow your downs to keep you down; always pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and try again! What makes a winner is not just in the amount of times they’ve won, but also in the amount of times they’ve loss BUT kept going. #YearofChange

OK! So now it’s time for the fun stuff! As many of you, who have been reading my blog posts may already know, I’ve been speaking about revamping my Make-up Vanity for some time! As you can see in my first image below, I did my first DIY Make-up Vanity late last year and it was OK, But I wanted something that stood out a bit more and spoke TRUE to my Interior Decorating abilities! FINALLY, I was able to get this major project completed and I wanted to kick off my first post BACK with BEFORE & AFTERS and EVERYTHING in between! It took a lot of researching, browsing, and thought to make this PERFECT and I am so happy with the results.

Just as an FYI, I did buy most of my items online from Amazon (You gotta over Amazon Prime!) and in-store at Target, and HomeGoods. It was quite a journey sifting through HomeGoods and Target BUT I was able to knock it out in two visits (Thank Goodness!). Just as a side note, I found it so much BETTER to go to both stores EARLY in the morning. It felt as if you were getting fresh inventory, more unique items, AND less people! Oh & in NYC, having Less People is ALWAYS a GREATER EXPERIENCE!! Haha!

So here it goes guys…….

MY BEFORES

My First DIY Makeup Vanity on October 6, 2016:

THE PROCESS:

IT’S COMING TOGETHER Right?….

JUST A FEW ADD-ONS FOR THE MOMENT!

MOSTLY WHITE WITH A POP OF COLOR!

CAN YOU TELL MY LOVE FOR ORCHIDS?? (HENCE MY BLOG’S NAME!) ♥ By the way, I chose Artificial Orchids because I don’t have time to water REAL ones! Haha!

I’M A LOVER OF GOLD & UNIQUE ITEMS! PLUS, I WANT A PUPPY TOO, SO THIS IS A DAILY MOTIVATOR! HAHA!

AND…..Here it is! MY AFTER!

My DIY final project for my Makeup Vanity! I truly love my white theme with a pop of pinks, greens, yellows, and golds. I definitely wanted a bit of a spring feel BUT simplistic “Moderness” as well. I find that accents of color gives you a bit of a joyous feel and that’s definitely my goal. Who doesn’t want to sit in their own “space” and feel joyous & peaceful?

Of course, I have a few pictures of my 2 favorite guys, as well as my daily notebook/journal and Bible. I’m super excited to expand more of my make-up, natural hair products, and fragrances, NOW that I have a central place to keep them organized and in view! I’m loving my little space and trust me, I only scaled this small because I’m in a one bedroom apartment in NYC. Haha! A bigger space in the future will call for a Grander Theme!

SO WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

Do you have your own Make-up Vanity? Are you thinking about doing one yourself?

I’m excited to begin my next project coming soon!

HAPPY SATURDAY!
