So last night’s dinner was a bit more simple, quick, and easy! Yesterday was a bit of a busy day for me, filled with appointments & to-do’s; so it was only right to make a meal that saved time.
I decided to go with oven Fried Chicken and a side of rice (topped w/ lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and sour cream). But you know that I had to put a bit of Southern flair to this dish by adding hot sauce to my egg wash. It gives it just a bit of spice, but nothing overwhelming, unless you add MORE hot sauce, of course!
Plus, it’s so much better to use the oven for your chicken wings when frying. Less oil and a bit more crunch! Yum!
Hope you enjoy!
OVEN FRIED CHICKEN WINGS W/ A SOUTHERN FLAIR RECIPE
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/4 cup hot sauce (I used Jamaican hot sauce, BUT you can use Frank’s hot sauce OR other brand)
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
In one bowl, crack 3 eggs and add hot sauce.
In another bowl, combine flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, garlic and onion powders.
Dip each wing in the egg wash, then into the flour mixture.
Place on buttered baking sheet (avoid over crowding!)
Place chicken wings in pre-heated oven (400 degrees Fahrenheit)
Let bake for 30 minutes before turning wings on the opposite side.
They should begin to take on a nice golden brown color when they start to get done.
Sometimes you want more pepper or maybe a little more seasoning or a little more hot sauce.
Serve with any side that you desire!
