When it comes to pasta, I try to create new ways of making it so that we don’t get tired of the same recipe. In this dish, I chose to go with a creamier sauce, since I find the dry sauces less fun. Occasionally, Id be happy to toss my pasta in a bit of butter or olive oil, however, who wants that all the time? Not I. Besides, this pasta was one that I purchased at my local BJ’s Wholesale and I wanted to spruce it up for a quick, but flavorful meal. This pasta is called “Spinach + Cheese Ravioli” from the Wesley brand. I enjoy it from time to time, but often prefer homemade pastas than pre-packaged! I’m actually going to purchase a pasta-maker piece for my KitchenAid mixer so that I can make my pastas from scratch in the future. Yippee. I can’t wait.
Anyway, I chose to do a creamy tomato-based sauce which only consisted of a can of tomato sauce, heavy cream, butter, and seasoning. Very easy and uses minimal ingredients. And because I love texture in my dishes, I sliced a few plum tomatoes and chopped a handful of walnuts and WALLAH! A nice yummy pasta dish that only took about 10 minutes in total.
Plus, I had to make garlic bread as a side because what is a pasta dish without bread or salad, right? Haha!
Usually, I would use frozen Garlic bread, since it’s easier, but I wanted to try something homemade and I am so happy that I did! This Garlic bread recipe is a new favorite in my house and I can guarantee the same for you! I feel like I can practically eat it with anything or just as a light snack! Haha!
Per usual, I’ve included the recipe below in case you’d like to give it a GO!
- 1 Loaf of fresh bread or baguette
- 1 bulb Garlic cloves, chopped
- 3 Tbsps butter, softened (NOT melted)
- 2 Tbsps Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1 Tbsp dried parsley
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp dill weed
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl and set aside.
Cut loaf in halves and spoon mixture on each half.
Wrap each half in foil paper (individually) and place in oven. Let bake for 10 minutes.
Once done, put oven on broil for 5-7 minutes or until bread is brown around the edges and crisp.
Remove and serve while HOT!
