SOAK IN ICE BATH:

After cooking the eggs in a pot (or air fryer) transfer them to a bowl with cold water and ice cubes. Let them sit for about 5 minutes until they're cool enough to handle. Then, gently crack each egg and remove the shell completely. This trick makes the shells slide off effortlessly.

6 Tips For Making The Best Deviled Eggs

  • Don't overcook the eggs, overcooked eggs have a greenish tint on the yolk which will effect the overall color of the filling.
  • Balance the flavors and experiment with the ratio of mustard, mayo, and seasonings to find your ideal taste.
  • Keep the filling from getting too runny. Your deviled egg filling should be spoonable without being overly liquidy. If it's too runny, strain it through a fine mesh sieve or mix in extra egg yolks to thicken it up.
  • Use a plastic bag or piping bag to easily fill the egg whites, it gives the deviled eggs a nice polished look.
  • Use a sharp knife. A dull blade may tear the delicate egg white, so keep it sharp for smooth slicing.
  • Let your deviled eggs chill in the fridge for at least an hour before serving to enhance the flavors and texture.
