There’s something magical about festive seasonal drinks that make any occasion feel extra cozy, and this Spiced Maple Citrus Pear Mocktail is no exception. The warming spices give it that perfect seasonal touch, making it a mocktail you’ll crave all season long.

As much as I love classic apple cider and my Fancy Hot Honey Lemon Mocktail, this one might just take the cake. It’s the ultimate Fall + Winter sip! Of course, you can simply search 'mocktails' on my site for a lot more options that fit your tastebuds.

What is A Mocktail?

So if you're sitting here thinking, what is a mocktail? Let me explain. A mocktail is like a party in a glass, minus the hangover. It's a delicious and refreshing non-alcoholic drink that's packed with all the flavor and complexity of a traditional cocktail but without any of alcohol.

Whether you're a designated driver, a health-conscious human, or just someone who wants to enjoy a delicious drink without the buzz, mocktails are the perfect solution.

How To Make Spiced Maple Citrus Pear Mocktail

All it takes is roasting your pears and oranges, mixing everything together, and voilà—your mocktail is ready to impress!

Ingredients

ROASTED FRUIT:

  • D’Anjou pears. Sliced (skin on).
  • Orange. Sliced (skin on)
  • Extra virgin olive oil. Feel free to use your favorite high-quality EVOO. My fave tried and trusted brand is California Olive Ranch.
  • Maple syrup. Make sure its the real deal and pure for the best flavor.
  • Spices. Ground cinnamon, nutmeg + allspice.

MOCKTAILS:

  • Filtered water.
  • Orange. Freshly squeezed, see my homemade orange juice recipe.
  • Maple syrup. For natural sweetness. You can adjust based on your own preference. If maple syrup isn't your thing you can also use honey or Agave instead as a sweetener.
  • Ground cinnamon. For the warm cosy spices.
  • Ginger beer. For topping. (I love to use Olipop)
  • Rosemary sprigs. Optional

Why Roast Fruit?

We all love roasted veggies, but have you ever tried roasting fruit? Roasting really intensifies the flavor, making the natural sugars caramelize and creating a sweet, complex flavor that’s totally irresistible.

In this Spiced Maple Citrus Pear Mocktail, roasting pears and oranges with spices gives the drink a unique, well-rounded balance that takes the flavor to the next level. Just coat the fruit in olive oil and roast it in a preheated oven until it’s caramelized—trust me, it’s magic. Don’t believe me? Give roasted fruit a try and see for yourself!

Spiced Maple Citrus Pear Mocktail Q + A's

How to store or make ahead?

You can make the mocktail mixture up to 1 day ahead and refrigerate in an airtight container. The day off, simply roast fruit and assemble.

Can I make a bigger batch?

This recipe serves about two. But you’ll probably want more, and I can’t blame you! You can easily double or triple the recipe to serve a crowd.

Can I use a different fruit if I don’t have pears?

Definitely! Apples or even stone fruits like peaches would work beautifully as substitutes. Just keep in mind they might roast a little quicker, so keep an eye on them.

Can I add alcohol to make it a cocktail?

For sure! A splash of bourbon or spiced rum pairs beautifully with the roasted flavors and spices.

Is this mocktail kid-friendly?

Totally! It’s alcohol-free and full of natural sweetness, making it perfect for the whole family to enjoy.
