Ingredients

GREEN SMOOTHIE:

  • 1 medium granny smith apple, peeled + chopped
  • 1 ripe banana, chopped
  • ½ cup organic kale, de-stemmed + chopped
  • ½ cup organic spinach
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1-2 Tbsps organic raw honey (For extra nutrients----you can add Manuka honey instead)
  • ½ lemon, freshly-squeezed
  • 1-2 tsps flaxseed meal or chia seeds
  • 1 cup Almond milk, unsweetened (You can use your fave plant-based milk)

OPTIONAL ADD-ON:

  • ¼ cup fresh parsley leaves, stems removed (Has powerful health + detox benefits)

Instructions

TO MAKE THE SMOOTHIE:

  • Add all ingredients to a high-powered blender (adding the frozen fruit first, then the rest following) and blend until smooth.
  • Adjust the amount of milk (or add water or ice), depending on desired consistency, adding 1 tablespoon more at a time, if needed.
  • To serve—pour smoothie in your favorite glass and top with sliced bananas, pineapple chunks, and/or sprinkles of chia seeds, if desired.
  • Sip and enjoy!

Notes

  • STORAGE: Store any leftovers in the refrigerator, tightly sealed or in a covered mason jar, ensuring that you drink it within the same day for best taste and consistency.
  • SWEETENER: You can always use maple syrup, vegan honey, or Medjol dates as a substitute for Agave.
  • PINEAPPLES: If you're using freshly chopped pineapple, you can freeze them prior to adding them to this smoothie or just add ice for a "smoothie-like" consistency.
  • TURMERIC: For health benefits of using turmeric, ensure that it is paired with black pepper, helps to aid in curcumin absorption. You can substitute the chia seeds with 1 teaspoon of turmeric + ⅛ teaspoon of black pepper.
